Boston Mass- Smoke Out Inc, will host a Smoke Out Day, a community fire and safety awareness event on Tuesday, May 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Oak Tree Elementary School. The event aims to promote fire safety education, increase awareness about the importance of working smoke detectors, and raise funds for the families affected by the recent residential fires in the Oak Tree Community.
The first 50 people will receive free smoke detectors, with additional smoke detectors available for purchase throughout the event.
The company is also sponsoring a silent auction that will be held to raise money for the families who have been affected by the fires in the past six months in the Oak Tree community.
Presentations include:
· Fire Safety: 6-6:30 p.m.
· Planning a Fire Escape Route: 7-7:30 p.m.
· Protecting your Home and Family: 8-8:30 p.m.
The event will also feature Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey the Bear, along with the local fire department. Light refreshments will be provided, and a surprise celebrity guest speaks at 8:30pm. This will be something the whole family enjoys and will leave with great safety tips.
Company President Lee Williams had this to say. “Smoke detectors save lives…period, we live in this community too and it breaks my heart that neighbors have lost loved ones, homes, and precious possessions unnecessarily.”
Smoke Out, Inc. is a private company that has provided smoke alarms to residential and commercial clients since 1978. They are a family-owned business, which started after their grandparents suffered a tragic house fire that took the life of their grandchild.
